What we do
Care for the whole person
Assessment, prescribing and talking work, offered together rather than in isolation, because that combination is usually what moves people forward. Every service below is delivered by secure video.
-
ADHD assessment and treatment
Attention and focus difficulties assessed properly, with medication and practical strategies where they are the right call.
More on this -
Adults and older adults
Care for ages 18 and upward, with the approach adapted to where someone is in life rather than applied the same way to everyone.
More on this -
Medication management
Starting, adjusting and monitoring psychiatric medication, including side effects and how it fits with everything else you are doing.
More on this -
Ongoing follow-up
Regular reviews so treatment keeps pace with how you are doing now, not how you were when the plan was written.
More on this -
Psychiatric evaluation
A full assessment of your history, symptoms and goals, so any diagnosis rests on the whole picture rather than one visit.

Telehealth appointments
Every appointment is held by secure video, so care reaches you anywhere in North Carolina without travel, parking or a waiting room.

Therapy and counselling
Talking work alongside medication, or on its own where that is the right call. Space to understand what is happening and to build ways of handling it.

What we treat
What people come to us with
Some arrive with a diagnosis already. Many arrive only knowing that something is wrong and that it has gone on long enough. Both are a good place to start.
How Mary works
A holistic, person-centred approach
Care is grounded in what supports balance, resilience and emotional stability, with therapeutic strategies chosen to fit the person rather than the label.
Strength based
Starting from what is already working in your life and building on it, rather than treating you as a list of problems to be corrected.
Multicultural
Your background, culture and circumstances shape how distress shows up and what help feels acceptable. That is taken seriously here, not worked around.
Faith friendly
Christian counselling is available for clients who want their faith included in the work. It is offered, never assumed, and never required.
Individualized
Each client is specific, and care should be individualized. What worked for someone else with the same diagnosis is a starting point, not a plan.
How it goes
Starting care, step by step
Get in touch
Call the practice or send a request. We will talk about what you are looking for and find a time that works.
The first session
A longer appointment, and mostly listening. History, what has helped before, what has not, and the beginning of a trusting relationship.
A plan built around you
Therapy, medication, or the two together, chosen with you and matched to your situation rather than to the diagnosis alone.
Review and adjust
Follow-up visits to check what is working, change what is not, and keep the plan honest about where you actually are.
Your provider

As a minority woman, I understand how it feels to face challenges and uphill battles alone, when no one else can relate.

Common questions
Before you call
No. You can contact the practice directly to ask for an appointment. If another clinician is already involved in your care and you would like them kept in the loop, say so and that can be arranged with your permission.
Yes. A Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is a prescribing provider. That covers starting a medication, adjusting a dose, reviewing something a previous prescriber started, and monitoring how you are getting on with it.
No. Medication is one option and it is discussed with you, not decided for you. In mental health a combination of therapy and medication is often what works best, but the balance between them depends on your situation and on what you want.
It is longer than a follow-up and it is mostly listening. Expect questions about your history, your current symptoms, anything you have tried before, and what you would like to be different. The main aim of the first session is establishing a trusting relationship, because very little useful work happens without one.
Adults, ages 18 and upward, including older adults. Mary works with adults of any gender. The practice does not see children or teenagers.
All appointments are held online, by secure video. That covers the first appointment and every follow-up. You will be sent a link beforehand, and you need a private space, a device with a camera and a connection. Care is available to anyone located in North Carolina at the time of the appointment.
Please contact the practice to confirm what applies to you before your first appointment, so there are no surprises. Coverage and self-pay arrangements are best confirmed directly rather than assumed from a website.
If you have been putting this off, that is common
Most people wait a long time before making the first call. There is no test to pass and nothing to prepare. One conversation is enough to work out whether this is the right place for you.
